If you want to try something different than the usual Mexican dishes but that it's still traditional from the region, you have to come here. They serve everything made of the antique azul corn grain. We loved their complementary starter to the point we asked for more. We then had their trio of tacos and they baby corn covered in a local mushroom. Quite unusual flavours, but we enjoyed them! Attentive service, nice outdoor location

My husband cooks gourmet food very often, so I don’t like just “anything “. The tortilla soup was UNBELIEVABLE... pork belly w/mole, “ OUTSTANDIG ...and dessert : chocolate truffle ...WOW... service... the best . Price for this gastronomical experience, cheap. I’ll be back...

Fantastic authentic Mayan cuisine! We stumbled across this place by accident and it is by far the best restaurant we found in Bacalar Lagoon. Delicious mole’s, tacos, tamales, and more. Vegan & carnivore options pleased our eclectic group. The atmosphere is amazing and decorated beautifully. A must-visit for those wanting the real thing. I’ll be dreaming of this food until we vacation here again!

Wow! One of the best restaurants I’ve been in Mexico! Hidden gem in Bacalar, with great typical Mexican cuisine like Tlayuda with quesillo (cheese from Oaxaca region). Like the name can suggest there are some dishes with blue corn which is really different and interesting. Even the desert took me by surprise since it’s described as normal chocolate desert - but don’t skip it! Totally different and worth it.

Don’t miss out on this incredible restaurant, not in the centre but the best Mexican food we had while we were here. Also the drinks were great :) Lovely concept, great music at a good volume, and really welcoming staff and overall vibe. The atmosphere was really comforting would definitely return again. Really recommend the cochinita (pork dish) and the pulpo (octopus) tostada

Best food I’ve had in a very long time! Every single item is crafted for the palette. Rich food in flavor, amazing colors. Inspired by Oaxacan cuisine. I am Mexican and I approve of the salsas and authenticity. Ismael provided us with extraordinary service. We came twice during our stay in Bacalar. The atmosphere is bohemian with subtle lighting. Makes for great conversation. You won’t regret giving this place a try!

Super cute little place. Spanish and English available. Tasty traditional dishes including grasshopper for the adventurous. The sauces and service were amazing. Fernanda was lovely and very helpful. Only three tables, but no wait. We had a tiny owl fly up on the wall next to us before we left. It was a highlight of our trip. Magical and memorable.
